DESCRIPTION:Acclaimed New York jazz pianist\, John Colianni\, will be performing with his trio at the Circular Congregational Church\, 150 Meeting Street Charleston\, SC 29401\, on Sunday February 18\, 2018 at 3pm. \nColianni has toured with the greats – Mel Tormé\, Les Paul\, Lionel Hampton to name a few. Concord records came calling when John was just starting out in New York and Patuxent Music a few years later. Having recorded well over a dozen albums and being featured on many others\, John Colianni is one of the rare A#1 jazz pianists living and working today. The 17-piece band\, The John Colianni Jazz Orchestra\, plays swing\, modern jazz\, standards\, and original compositions in various venues around NYC. \nColianni’s Trio will work a short tour in South Carolina this February bringing them to Charleston on Sunday February 18\, 2018 @ 3pm. The concert is titled THE STORIES AND THE SONGS. Colianni will share stories about working with the greats and will feature well known tunes. \nMel Tormé said this about John Colianni –\n“The Best You’ll Ever Hear”.
